Melanoma

Is a type of skin cancer that begins in the melanocytes, which are the cells that produce pigment in the skin. It is the most dangerous form of skin cancer, as it has a high potential to spread to other parts of the body if not detected and treated early.
The most common symptom of melanoma is the appearance of a new or unusual mole or growth on the skin, or a change in the appearance of an existing mole or growth. Melanoma can also cause other symptoms such as itching, bleeding, or ulceration of the affected area.

The main risk factors for melanoma include a history of sunburns, excessive exposure to UV radiation, a family history of melanoma, and having a large number of moles or unusual moles.

Treatment for melanoma typically involves surgery to remove the affected area, as well as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy, depending on the stage and severity of the cancer.
